Gary Fisher is a Human Resources professional with extensive experience at senior level within multinational organisations.

With a solid background in operational HR, Gary has particular expertise in delivering strategic HR which is focused on the needs of the business. This encompasses change management, mergers and acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, company rationalisations and closures, performance management and leadership development. He also has considerable experience in employee relations and Trade Union issues both in the UK and other European countries.

Gary’s background includes a successful career at Racal Electronics (now Thales) rising through different companies within the group during periods of considerable change to become HR Director for the Defense Electronics Group with 4000 employees and a turnover of £400m. He subsequently took senior level assignments as Human Resources Vice President at Bechtel, Vice President, Human Resources at Marconi Optical Components and Group HR Director at BBA Aviation plc. Working in an Interim Management capacity, Gary has carried out specific projects for the ETEX Group, Duracell, General Dynamics UK, Gate Gourmet, the Legal Services Commission, Synad Technologies Ltd and the Strategic Rail Authority.

Gary believes strongly in ensuring a company’s HR strategy meets the business needs, and is an integral part of a business. He has a demonstrable track record of achieving this. His focus is on improving business performance through excellence in HR, particularly in sensitive situations such as mergers, acquisitions, disposals and company restructuring.

Team player and adventurer

When he isn’t working, Gary carries his belief in working as a team through to his main hobby – hockey. He has played and umpired for Wokingham Hockey Club for many years and is convinced that playing hockey brings out the team playing elements of  a persons true personality, both during and after each game!  Gary also enjoys mountain biking and climbing, recently cycling in the Draa Valley in Morocco and reaching the summit of Kilimanjaro. In quieter moments Gary is an avid collector of antiquarian travel narratives.
